The author's opinion in this cartoon is that England has influence and control in places all over the world. I do not believe that this cartoon depicts England in good or bad light. This cartoon is merely showing the reach of England in world affairs and the size of England's empire.
This cartoon is depicting the major powers of the world such as Germany, England, and France slicing up China with the a Chinese man yelling behind them. The opinion of this artist is that the China was divided up without even asking the Chinese. The artist believes that China's wants were ignored by the imperialist and demonstrates by showing how the Chinese man's yelling is ignored by the leaders at the table. I believe that this cartoon is a very good depiction of not just imperialism in China but imperialism in the world. It shows how the needs of the native people were ignored by the conquering imperialist.
